Damn!

Some paparazzi caught us live doing a presentation about Jobsket and he posted the picture at the Internet.

We will call our lawyers shortly. This cannot happen again :-)

On a more serious note. Picture was taken at Spring 2GX Madrid. An event to which we were kindly invited and that we quite enjoyed.

We are proud to announce that one of our customers, EGA Consultores has gone live with Jobsket as recruitment solution for their website. With this integration, EGA Consultores leverages Jobsket’s semantic technology engine to improve their processes allowing them to handle many more CVs and applications and removing data entry from their processing chain. Jobsket will allow EGA Consultores to focus on recruiting and to focus on improving their relationship with the final candidate which will benefit all their customers.

Jobsket offers several widgets and help to companies like EGA Consultores that wish to improve their recruitment processes through their website. The integration process with EGA has been seamless and the website keeps the original layout without anyone noticing that Jobsket is in the background apart from a tiny advertisement message:

If anyone is interested in improving their processes, managing many more candidate applications and removing data entry completely from their recruitment chain, just contact us.

OCR support, job offers, additional job alerts and more

Hi!

We keep working hard and today we have deployed a new and exciting version of our software. As you may already have seen we have slightly changed the format of our home page:

This is to accomodate the job offers from companies that are starting to use Jobsket as their recruitment platform. To further help these companies we have added OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. What does it mean? Well, imagine that you are a recruitment agency. During several years you may end up storing hundreds or thousands of hand-given resumes or just PDF files that have been scanned. These files are just images, and it is impossible to extract anything from them unless you do OCR. So we’ve added this ability to our offer. So now you can upload your CVs and we will take care of OCRing them for you. Pretty cool if you have a big database of scanned CVs.

Another new feature at Jobsket is the support for job positions without any salary. Until now at Jobsket all the positions you could find did have a salary. We thought this was the best for our users, but the reality is that many companies do not publish salaries in their job offers. So we ended up sending you very few recommendations and skipping some job offers that could be of interest to you, even though they didn’t have a salary. So now we will be delivering 0 salary positions within our job alerts. But do not worry you will be able opt out of this feature.

There is many other features, specially for companies that we will not address in this post but in next posts. We really hope you like the work we are doing at Jobsket!

So, we keep working hard. This week we announced the release of Jobsket’s enterprise version.

From now on, companies can sign up to Jobsket to take full advantage of our platform. Companies can publish job offers, they also will get a personal storage space to which they can upload their CVs and have them classified, estimated, they can put comments, etc. In summary, companies can manage the whole recruitment workflow from a single place and in a very efficient but simple manner. If you have got a business and you are thinking on saving costs and increase efficiency then you should have a look to our feature tour and check out our competitive prices.

We have also published an user features tour so you can find out all the stuff you can do with Jobsket. There is a few new important features for users in this release, like the ability to search for job offers, to apply to job offers or to manage all your applications. By the way, if you are really worried about privacy, then you will be happy to know that it is now possible to disable other users from downloading or printing your CV. You can change these settings from your CV settings page.

This release is very important for us and we have already started to get companies on board publishing their job offers. We really hope you like all these new features as much as we do.

Enjoy!

We are sending this email to inform you that we just have launched a new videos section for the first time. At this section we will publish tutorials showing how to take the most advantage of Jobsket.

Just today we have published a new video on how to put your CV into your web page, your blog and even on your Facebook or Twitter. This can be really useful if you want to promote your CV.

Embedding your CV in your blog
We’d also like to encourage you to keep all your personal information private when publishing your CV anywhere. Few weeks ago we released a video tutorial showing how to hide all your personal information using the Jobsket viewer. Don’t forget to have a look at it.

We love to read your comments so if you have any suggestions just contact us at any time or just write something on this blog entry.

Right, so here we are again after some well deserved holidays.

A few days ago a friend of mine told me that he had received a call from a recruiter in Barcelona city. The recruiter had called to offer him a job as he had found his CV via a Google search. The CV the recruiter found was his Jobsket CV so we were really thrilled about it. It looks like Jobsket is working! Anyways, it is quite clear that when you put your CV on the Internet you must be very careful with your personal information. At Jobsket we have taken several steps to protect your private information like giving you the chance of choosing amongst three different privacy levels or allowing you to hide your CV from search engines amongst other things.

However, sometimes when you are job hunting, what you really want is just to make your CV as much visible as you can. You want people to find you out. You want people to find your skills but you do not want to compromise your personal information. To help overcome this problem Jobsket we have released a new improved version of our viewer that allows you to hide your personal information.

Hiding your personal information on the new viewer is extremely easy. You only have to edit the CV and add masks that will hide all those parts of your CV that you don’t want to be seen. That information will remain hidden to external viewers. That’s ideal when you want the maximum visibility for your CV. When you want your CV to be public and indexed by search engines because people will be able to find you out but they won’t see the information that you have masked.

So check out these videos. There is the Spanish and the English versions. And don’t forget to keep your information safe!

We hope you like it!

Hi all. What a release. You’ll be asking yourself, is this an update release or a brand new Jobsket? :)

We have a new release of Jobsket packed with new features. Once again most of these features in this release were
asked by yourselves from our feedback page, something we are really grateful for.

The most important change we have implemented is the new CV viewer. We have updated the look and feel of the CV viewer. It has also been upgraded to include several features that the previous one was missing. For example you can now use the mouse-wheel to scroll up and down, you can view any CV in full-screen mode or you can use the new search text field to find any word on the CV.

New Jobsket Viewer

That is not the only change. Now you can also use the new “send as email” feature to send an email from Jobsket with your CV attached to it. You will find an icon with an envelope in the new viewer’s toolbar. If you click on that icon you will be redirected to a new screen from which you can create an email and send it to any person. You just have to create the email, and we will take care of sending the email with the CV as an attachment on it. It is that easy. So, now you can send your CV from Jobsket to anyone at any time.

With the new viewer we have also improved the different ways you can promote your CV. Until now the only way to promote your CV was embedding a thumbnail of your CV in your web page. But now you will be able to embed the whole CV in your blog or web page and you also will be able to customize its dimensions. If you find the thumbnail or the new embedable viewer too big for your page you can also use one of our new promotional icons. You can access all these features and start promoting your CV from the Embed your CV page.

New Widgets

More stuff. There is no doubt we are in the social networking age. So what better than publishing your CV in your favorite social networks to promote yourself. You can do it now from Jobsket just clicking on the Share your CV link at your profile page and a new dialog will pop up allowing you to publish your CV in social networking sites like Facebook or Linkedin or to bookmark it at applications like Twitter, Delicious, Digg, FriendFeed, etc.
Share your CV

And talking about social relationships. Another feature we’ve added is the possibility of getting recommendations from other users. So now if you know your friends you can ask them to give you a recommendation and you can also give recommendations to other users. To give a recommendation you only have to visit a CV and click on the Recommend link on the CV actions menu. The more recommendations you have, the more attractive your CV can be to a recruiter. Recruiters will be able to see your recommendations and get a feeling of the work you’ve been done. So we encourage you to start giving and getting recommendations from your contacts!

Another nice feature we are bringing you today is Xing support. Until now you could import your CV from your Linkedin profile. From now on you will be able to do the same with your Xing profile. So, no excuses! If you haven’t got a CV but you have a Xing profile, you can now go to our hResume upload page and import your CV.
Microformats Support

We’ve also done some updates to our notifications system. Up to now we’ve been sending you emails with job offers that exceed the estimated value of your CV. To allow more flexibility in these emails we have updated the configuration in such way that you can now define a range of salaries for which you want to receive job offer alerts. You can define your salary range at the alerts configuration page.
New notification options
Finally, another important change we’ve done is that now you will be able to get a live stream of all the activity of your contacts. Has your friend updated his CV? Has he added a new connection that you both know about? You will find this kind of information and much more. Go to the page with your contacts activity and check it out.

Contacts activity

We’ve also fixed many issues that have been popping up and that you have told us about. We also want to thank you for all the tags suggestions that you guys have been sending. All this stuff helps us to improve Jobsket and we’d like to encourage you to keep sending us precious feedback.

We hope you’ll like this new release!

We are pleased to announce that we just have released a new version of Jobsket with many exciting new features. This is our biggest release since we announced Jobsket and we are really excited about it. These are the main new features that you will find:

  • Publish multiple CVs. The first change you will notice is that from now on each user will be able to upload several CVs to Jobsket. In this release we’re limiting the amount of CVs to two. Why would you want to have several CVs? Well it is up to you, but perhaps you could want to have one CV in English and another one in Spanish; or you could want to have a CV written focused in a specific sector and another CV highlighting your experience in a different area. There is now a new link Your CVs that allow you to browse all the CVs you have uploaded.

  • Customize your tags. Without a doubt, this has been one of the most requested features. And we have listened to you. So from now on you will be able to customize your tags. To do so, you only have to go to your CV and click on the Customize your tags link. This will take you to a new section from where you can remove all the tags that you don’t agree with or you can also create your brand new tags. At Jobsket we love to listen to your feedback!

  • Contacts. It is now possible to keep in touch with your friends and contacts from Jobsket so you can start building your social network around your CV. *Don’t hesitate* to invite all your friends and start growing your network. We’ve done the first step. If you already have invited your friends to Jobsket, we have added them as your contacts. You can manage all your contacts and invite people from the new section Your Network.

  • Messaging. Do you want to send a message to someone you’ve seen in Jobsket? Do you want to contact with someone about a job? If this is the case we are making things easy for you. Now when you visit someone’s CV you can send them a message from there. You can also view all the messages that you have sent and received from the new section, Messaging.

  • Find who has visited your CV. The new Last visits to your CV menu option lets you to see who has been viewing your CV.

  • Embed your CV in Blogger. Have you got a blog? Is your blog hosted at Blogger? Then we’ve done things very easy for you to promote your CV. You just have to go to your CV and click on the Share your CV link. As usual, a new dialog will pop up with the embed code on it. But now you will find a new button that allows you to publish your CV in Blogger in just one click. No setup required!

All these are exciting new features that we hope you will like. *Moreover* we have done many other changes in the background that are not that visible and that improve Jobsket’s engine performance and stability. For instance, tag detection should be much more accurate and new roles have been added. *Despite of that* we would like to encourage you to send us an email if you have any issue, problem or feedback. We love to hear your thoughts.

We would like also to *thank you all for* the welcome and support that we had after our public launch. Thank you very much indeed for all your support! Now, just remember to invite all your friends an start building your network :)
